Family Friendly Events Near Mt. Juliet, TN
Wilson County families know the drill: most of what Nashville puts on means an hour of traffic and a parking garage. Touch of Brews is twenty minutes down I-40, on open grass, and built so that everyone in the car has a reason to be there.
One highway, one exit
The I-40 Run from Mt. Juliet to Donelson
This is about as simple as a drive to a Nashville event gets. Point west on I-40, stay on it for roughly fifteen minutes, pick up Briley Parkway north, and take the McGavock Pike exit. The mansion gates are a couple of minutes off the parkway.
You never touch downtown, you never look for a garage, and you park on the grounds where the festival is. Coming home is the same run in reverse, which for a family with tired kids in the back seat is the whole argument.
Coming from the north side of town, Old Hickory Boulevard connects across to Briley if I-40 is heavy. From the Providence Marketplace side, South Mt. Juliet Road up to I-40 west is the straight shot.
roughly twenty minutes, door to lawn.

Why Wilson County Families Make This Drive
Mt. Juliet is not short on parks and ball fields. What it does not have is a full day of live music where the whole household is genuinely welcome.
Not a 21 and Over Room
Most live music near Nashville happens in bars and venues that turn kids away at the door. This is open lawn, all ages, with a free Kids Zone running the whole day.
Bring the Chairs and the Wagon
The lawn is the seating, and on site parking means a short carry from the car. Nobody is hauling a cooler eight blocks from a garage on Broadway.
The Dog Comes Too
Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome at no charge and do not need a ticket. More on bringing a dog.
A town that already knows
Mt. Juliet Understands a Good Band
Your Biggest Park Is Named for a Fiddle Player
Charlie Daniels Park on Charlie Daniels Parkway is the center of family life in Mt. Juliet, with a playground, a splash pad, a skate park, courts, and a shaded walking trail. It is also the only major city park in Middle Tennessee named for a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
That says something about the place. A town that names its park after a musician is a town that will get what we are doing twenty minutes west: six acts on one stage, from a Grateful Dead tribute to a Bob Dylan tribute to a Louisiana roots band, playing to families on a lawn from late morning until the lights come on.

Everything here is inside 37122 or a few minutes past it, and every one of them is worth an afternoon.
Charlie Daniels Park
1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122
The default family park in town, and deservedly so. A large playground with a separate toddler section, a seasonal splash pad, a skate park, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, an outdoor exercise area, and a shaded paved trail with a nature trail alongside. Shaded picnic tables and plenty of parking. Bring water for the dog, there is not much available on the trail.
Jones Family Park
1535 North Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122
Quieter than Charlie Daniels, with a dog park, paved paths, and trails running down toward the creek. Deer are common. Bring your own water bowl and your own bags, and do the next person a favor by using them.
Eagle Park
535 West Division Street, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122
A no frills park built around a kids bike track, a rock climbing feature, and a greenway of a little under two miles. Freight trains pass close enough to watch, which for a certain age of child is the entire attraction. Best in daylight, the trail gets dark early.
Sgt. Jerry Mundy Memorial Park
300 Mundy Memorial Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122
Four lit pickleball courts that stay busy into the evening, plus ball fields used for youth football and a concession stand on game days. More of a play here than a wander here park.
Breakfast and Dinner on Mt. Juliet Road
The Paper Mill at 4066 North Mt. Juliet Road does breakfast and lunch daily until 2 p.m. and is the obvious stop before a drive west. THOLOS Mediterranean at 2240 North Mt. Juliet Road and Barrel House at 3950 North Mt. Juliet Road both handle dinner, and Jonathan's Grille at 613 South Mt. Juliet Road near Providence Marketplace is the reliable large group option. For something smaller, Chocolate Whisper Patisserie at 2232 North Mt. Juliet Road does coffee and pastry.
